I’m frequently asked by parents looking for a newborn photographer, “What does it means when photographer list ” Professional Retouched Images” or “Hand Edited Images”?
In this blog post I will show you ”straight out of camera” images, then a professionally retouched images. I have studied in the art of photography for 4 years. Anyone can buy a very expensive camera or a stock camera from best buy and take an okay picture. This profession is all about learning your camera equipment, photoshop, and technique! You have to be able to do all three effectively very time. Fancy cameras do not take good images, people with a knowledge base do!
Please note in this first pose hands NEVER leave baby! I always cringe when I see a photographer post on social media ” Baby held this all by herself” Babies safety is always #1!
I like to keep images as clean as possible! Here is an example of a little man who just needed some shadows lifted, skin smoothed ( no plastic babies here) and an overall glow.
The top image is straight out of camera “SOOC” the bottom image is hand edits with pro retouching!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read through this blog post! I hope you have a better understanding of professional retouching. I love creating works of art for new families to enjoy for a lifetime!
